Our Clients

We have been working with event organizers on some of the biggest cycle events in Britain on a variety of mountain bike and cycling events. We are endurance event specialists having worked on a majority of the major 24hr and 12hr mountain bike events in the UK with a number of different organisers.

UCI XC Mountain Bike World Cup – Dalby Forest – in 2010 and 2011 our expertise were requested to mark the Dalby World Cup course to the high standard required by the UCI officials, taking into consideration crowd movement and spectator safety and viewing points. During the event weekend we were employed as the Marshal Co-Ordinator – managing the 80 safety marshals stationed around the course. Our experience was also used on a number of occasions to trouble-shoot incidents and ensure the smooth running of the events.

The Demo Series 2011 – With excellent working relationships with the major bike brands and having worked with them during 2010 on the BMBS Demo Series we were approached to organise a series of six winter mountain bike demo days around the country for Giant, Specialized and Trek to showcase their latest 2011 products. Organisation responsibilities included all aspects of the day on a tight budget.

British Mountain Bike Series 2009-2011 – working in conjunction with InEvent as a shareholder of the BMBS to expand the UK’s premiere cross-country mountain bike. In the first year this included a series of challenge rides and a demo series for the major mountain bike brands.
These events require a different approach to cater to the needs of advanced riders and to satisfy the strict event and safety criteria laid down by the sports governing body, British Cycling.

Bontrager Twentyfour12 – experienced event organisers InEvent have been using a variety of our event services to support one of the biggest 24hr and 12hr mountain bike races in the country. Our experience and professionalism helps this event run smoothly throughout the long weekend.

In 2009 we helped to build some new sections of singletrack, adding to an already excellent course at one of the best endurance race venues in the country, Newnham Park.

To find out more about the event, you can visit the official Bontrager Twentyfour 12 website.

Wild Boar 24 & Grizedale Mountain Bike Challenge – organisers of the successful GMBC endurance event contacted SIP early in 2008 to ask for our help to run a new 24hr mountain bike race. Though experienced at running single day events, they felt many aspects of the new race would benefit from our extensive experience in 24hr mountain biking.

SIP Events played a key role in the months leading up to the event in campsite and arena location, race start/finish and timing siting, “changeover area” set-up and competitor facility requirements. During the race we were front-line response to any problems or incidents that occurred, liaising closely with the event organisers, safety marshalls and First Aid teams to ensure a first class experience for all competitors.

From this extrememly productive and beneficial working relationship SIP were asked back to work on the GMBC in September, the all new Whinlatter GMBC in March 2009 and will be helping the Wild Boar 24 to expand and improve, having already provided a larger, more suitable venue. Visit their event websites WMBC, GMBC, and Wild Boar 24 to find out more details about the events.

Mayhem Classic Sportive – to help expand the festival feeling of Mountain Mayhem, in 2008 we were asked by Patrick Adams to run a road sportive on the Sunday of the event. As riders we used our experience of riding other sportives to produce a challenging, scenic, well thought out, well marked 100km sportive with multiple refreshments stops and organise registration and timing. The event was a great success with excellent feedback from all the riders that took part.

Enduro 6 & Thunder Run – A weekend comprising of various events that we worked on for many years.
Being so familiar with the event’s format and working closely with other members of the Trail Crew, contractors, sponsors and industry trade helped to make the course changes, unique pit set-up and logistical challenges of the races run smoothly and efficiently on an extremely tight timescale.

Mountain Mayhem & Sleepless in the Saddle – we worked on Britain’s largest 24 hour mountain bike races for almost 10 years and gained invaluable experience from Pro-Velo Support working closely on all aspects of the events with event organiser Patrick Adams.

With over 1500 competitors and family, friends and spectators on site these events required attention to detail to provide the riders with the best possible experience.

We developed our skills in areas such as arena layout, facility placement, course design and preparation and rider safety. We played key roles throughout the event weekends to ensure the events ran smoothly and problems were dealt with quickly and safely.

SIP Events were awarded the course installation contract for the Olympic MBT course at Halleigh Farm, the first time the job had been awarded to professional contractors instead of using volunteers.

A brand new, unique system of course marking was also employed, using a combination of pink brushes as inner race course markers and wooden stakes and green netting as the outer barrier for spectators.
