About Us

SIP Events was officially set up early in 2008 to further promote the skills and services of two of the countries leading cycle event consultants as a resource to event organizers. Before that, we had been working on the biggest, most well known cycling events for over 15 years and have a combined experience of 40 years within cycling.

We regularly compete in a variety of mountain bike races around the country and participate in many other cycling events. As active cyclists we aim to provide a range of cycling events and challenges catering for the needs of the rider; to give them the best possible experience, facilities, value for money, enjoyment and a sense of personal achievement.

We want to increase the involvement of the local communities at all of our events to promote cycling at a grass roots level and work closely with existing government, council, governing body, school and cycling organisation schemes; increasing people’s awareness of cycling opportunities within their own area and maintaining their enthusiasm for cycling long after the event has finished.

MD & Event Director – Sara Randle

Sara got her first mountain bike in 1992 and did her first MTB race at Hopton Woods in 1993 as part of Pearce Cycles. Racing and volunteering at local races soon lead to working for British Cycling during the Rav4 years as part of the timing team and then on to Mountain Mayhem in 2001 quickly followed by Enduro 6, Bontrager 24/12, BMBS and more. She is now one of the most experienced MTB organisers in the UK today, especially in endurance events. With her involvement in both the UCI XC Dalby World Cup events and the London 2012 Olympics, there are only a handful of people in the UK that can rival her credentials.

Having raced and ridden in the USA, Sara was inspired by their ultra-endurance races and created the iconic Kielder 100, the UK’s first single lap, 100 mile MTB race – an event which at its peak had 800 participants. Deciding that it was about time endurance racers were recognised for their achievements she created the UK and European 24hr and 12hr Solo Championship titles in 2010. Going one step further, The Endurance Series crowned the best endurance riders in the UK with a collaboration of six events and four organisers from around the UK set up as a points scoring series.
