Getting There:

Venue: Rock UK, Whithaugh Park, Newcastleton, TD9 0TY. The event will be signposted from the south end of the main road through Newcastleton.
Riders can arrive at the venue any time after 12pm on Friday 6th May. Please do not arrive before this. Rock UK is an adventure centre for schools and will have children in residence Friday morning. Please drive carefully, adhere to the speed restrictions and follow event signage to the arena and camp site.

Camping:

Camping is available free of charge for all riders and helpers on Friday, Saturday and Sunday night. A majority of the camping should be trackside. Please be sensible when marking out your area - riders will be limited to 3 metres of track frontage.

Cabins and Bunks:

This year we have taken over the Rock UK facility and a large number of log cabins/bunk rooms are available to riders and their family and friends. Each cabin has a toilet, shower and running water. Some have their own cooking facilities or are adjacent to a kitchen facility. They come in all different sizes and layouts so if you want to book a bed, a room, or want to get together with a group of friends to book a whole cabin, please contact Rock UK directly.

Catering and Food Pass:

Rock UK's caterers will be providing catering throughout the event with an extensive and delicious menu created with endurance racers in mind. They'll be running a pasta party on Friday night and the full menu from early Saturday morning through to Sunday afternoon.

An "Event Food Pass" will also be available at a cost of £20 to 24 hour racers and £12.50 for 12 hour racers. This will entitle the rider to eat what they want* whenever they want during the event without having to fiddle for change or soggy notes, and also includes a post-race meal. (*only includes homemade food, not packaged items e.g. chocolate bars)

The start:

The start will take place in Douglas Square in the centre of Newcastleton village. Riders will be treated to traditional Scottish music as they are called up individually to sign on in front of the crowd. The race will be started by the locally elected Tub and will follow a group of the Copshaw Common Riding club through the village before starting the race properly.

To save time, I try to only change clothes if I need to; that includes shorts! Changing bib shorts when you are trashed gets mighty complicated!
